Once I, Zhuang Zhou, dreamed I was a butterfly — a butterfly fluttering happily here and there. I knew nothing of Zhou. Suddenly I awoke, and I was Zhou again. Now I do not know: was Zhou dreaming he was a butterfly, or is the butterfly dreaming he is Zhou? Between Zhou and the butterfly, there must be some distinction. This is called the transformation of things.
