Dragon God's legacy. The words hung in the air like thunder.

Yun Che had heard the legends. Every cultivator in the Profound Sky Continent knew the story: five hundred years ago, the Dragon God had descended from the Realm of Gods to wage war against a threat that even the divine cultivators couldn't face. He had fought for seven days and seven nights, and when the battle ended, he was dying. Before he passed, he had hidden his inheritance — techniques, treasures, and a drop of his divine blood — somewhere in the mortal world, waiting for a successor worthy of his power.

The search for that legacy had consumed empires and destroyed sects. No one had ever found it.

'You know where the Dragon God's legacy is,' Yun Che repeated, not quite believing it.

'I know where one piece of it is. The inheritance is scattered across the continent. The Profound Handle has been hunting me for three years, trying to extract my knowledge. They've been creative in their methods.' Lingxi's voice was flat, but the burn scars on her wrists told a story that words didn't need to.

Yun Che felt something shift inside him — a recognition. She had been a prisoner too. She had been broken and not broken. She understood.

'I'm going to destroy the Profound Handle,' he said quietly. 'Every elder, every disciple, every brick of their fortress. You can help me, or you can go your own way. But if you help me, I'll share the Dragon God's legacy with you. Fair exchange.'

Lingxi studied him for a long moment. Her golden eyes seemed to pierce through his skin and examine the contents of his soul. Whatever she found there must have satisfied her, because she nodded once — a sharp, decisive motion.

'Deal. But first, we need to get out of this camp alive.'
